Klein epitomizes the defensive defenseman which is a role that is too often cast in a supporting light and unpraised. If the Mighty Pirates' defense corps enjoy a successful season of adding to the attack, it'll be because they enjoyed the luxury of being paired with Klein, who just might be one of the fastest Pirates on skates.

Klein, who has an uncanny ability to keep cool under pressure, always ensures that Pirate heads stay in the game.

Klein, a long-time right-winger, actually set career highs in assists and points 2004/05 in his first full year on defense, a feat he duplicated in 2008/09 on the blueline. Amazing!

For the past few seasons, Klein has been playing both right-wing and on the blueline. He's been with the Pirates since the inaugural 1993/94 season.
