• Games 6 & 7: The Silver Blades had a game plan from day one of the 2005 Summer Playoffs ... DEFENSE! The underdog Tigers came into the final series without a loss, but could only muster a single goal in the two games, certainly not enough for the right to hoist the Starbucks Cup! Congratulations to the Silver Blades for a superb defensive performance.

• Game 5: The Panthers got a better challenge in their second playoff outing from the Tigers, losing a heartbreaking shootout just one night ago. The Silver Blades were back to top form in their elimination of the 1st place Mighty Pirates. Both teams had success with their defensive game all season, and it showed in the playoffs here. Unfortunately, the Panthers couldn't find a way to score on the Blades for the second time, and because of it their season is over. For the Silver Blades, it's a trip to the Finals against the Tigers.

• Game 3: The Panthers and the Tigers battled hard to earn "A Pool" playoff spots, and one of them was poised for an immediate trip to the Starbucks Cup Finals! Another low-scoring battle was expected from these two hard-working teams, and they certainly delivered! The Panthers held a 1-0 lead into the final minute of play before the Tigers got the equalizer with the goalie pulled. It took an overtime and a double-shootout to decide things, but the Tigers pulled it out on the 10th shootout attempt. The Tigers are now in the Finals awaiting the winner of Game 5!



• Game 4: It was a real shocker, but either the 1st or 2nd place team from the regular season was not going any further than this! The Mighty Pirates faced another well positioned team in the Silver Blades, and without any bounces going their way, couldn't mount any sustained attack. The Blades just covered their men, and waited patiently for their chances. It paid off! A 4-2 win gives the Blades a chance to go to the Finals ... but, they'll have to get passed the Panthers first in Game 5!

• Game 1: The Mighty Pirates played an entire season without losing a single game. But, although the Panthers just squeaked into "Pool A" playoff action, they were the only team that was actually ready for playoff hockey! The Pirates, who only allowed 20 goals all season were burned 5 times on some sloppy plays, and the well-positioned Panther defense kept the potent Pirate offense on the outer rim all game long. The Panthers squared off against the Tigers in Game 3, while the Mighty Pirates faced a single-game elimination death-match with the Silver Blades in Game 4!



• Game 2: The Silver Blades and the Tigers have been evenly matched on the back-end, with great goaltending and sturdy defense. Each team sported an impressive 2.31 GAA for the regular season! However, the Blades' goals per game advantage couldn't help them find the OT winner in this one. The Tigers had a great opportunity to end it on a penalty shot (believe it or not) awarded with 1:46 left in the extra frame! The puck slid through the goalie's legs, off the right post, and out. Nonetheless, with 56 seconds to go, the Tigers stormed the net and pulled out the winner. They moved on to face off against the Panthers in Game 3, while the Silver Blades played a single-game elimination death-match with the Mighty Pirates in Game 4!
