Last Updated: Monday, April 16th, 2013 at 3:42pm (EST)

The Mighty Pirates are now three-time winners of the esteemed True North Cup (as the Molson Cup in 1998/1999 and 1999/2000) after bringing The Cup back home in 2012/13! What a fantastic run, something not soon to be forgotten by any hockey fan!

  • The Finals: Mighty Pirates at Toronto Blades
  • Round Three: Badgers at Toronto Blades
  • Round Two: Mighty Pirates at Toronto Blades / Badgers at Grrrowl
  • Round One: Badgers at Toronto Blades / Grrrowl at Mighty Pirates

Monday GilmourMonday Gilmour 'A' Division - Finals
  • Game 6 Recap: Back on course, the division champion Toronto Blades (3-1) were looking for revenge against the undefeated Mighty Pirates (2-1)... and they got it. A lacklustre effort from the Pirates, and a spirited blowout effort from the Blades helped them stay alive and force a final do-or-die game!

  • Game 7 Recap: The Toronto Blades (3-2) had the momentum, but in a complete reversal from the previous week, it was the Mighty Pirates (3-1) who came out flying. The Blades didn't give up after the Bucs built a 2-0 lead after two, cutting the lead in half on a power-play goal... but, the Pirates didn't get themselves into a panic and scored moments later, en route to a Cup winning victory!

Monday GilmourMonday Gilmour 'A' Division - Round Three
  • Game 5 Recap: The Badgers (1-2) and the Toronto Blades (2-1) met for the second time in these playoffs... this time in a sudden-death elimination match. The Blades had smoked the Badgers twice this season, each by 6-1 scores... but, those were followed up by two very tight contests. While the Bagders did have some amazing scoring power this season, especially with T. Batalion (#8) (aka the guy with white skates), they couldn't muster enough to keep their Cup hopes alive. The Toronto Blades simply played their game, and get a chance at revenge against the Mighty Pirates (2-0) who await them in the Finals!

Monday GilmourMonday Gilmour 'A' Division - Round Two
  • Game 3 Recap: The teams split lopsided games earlier this season, but this game was a lot closer than the score indicated. That being said, the undermanned Mighty Pirates (2-0) put in a heroic, 32-minute effort against the top-seeded Toronto Blades (1-1) to earn a bye into the Finals! The Blades will now take the long road, forced to meet the Badgers (1-1) in a one-game elimination match for the right to the other spot in the Finals.

  • Game 4 Recap: The Grrrowl (0-2) had held the Badgers (1-1) to just two goals in their two meetings this season, and they put in another grinding effort facing elimination against a strong team in the Badgers. The Badgers held a slim 1-0 lead for much of the game, but scored a crushing goal late in the third. While the Grrrowl were able to climb within one with the goalie pulled, they just didn't have the firepower to shock the hockey world. The Grrrowl are done, but congratulations to them on a hard fought season.

Monday GilmourMonday Gilmour 'A' Pool - Round One
  • Game 1 Recap: While entering the post-season on a two game winless streak, the Toronto Blades (1-0) had never gone more than two games without a win this season. After trailing early in the first period, they bounced back against a Badgers (0-1) team that they are now 3-0-1 against this season. While the Blades didn't have their most energetic performance of the season, they held off a skilled Badgers attack with some solid defense and goaltending, and they'll certainly be a challenge for the Pirates in Round Two next week.

  • Game 2 Recap: The Grrrowl (0-1) had won five of their last six games to earn a spot in the Monday Gilmour Division "A" Pool, and the Mighty Pirates (1-0) found out just how hard it is to score against them! But, the division's top scoring team, who have now won 10 of their last 12 games, would eventually find a way to score in a grudge match that was closer than the 3-0 final score indicated. The Pirates now have a shot at an early trip to the Finals if they can beat the Blades next week.
